Proper Installation. Make sure your new mattress and foundation are properly installed in your room. Improper installation can cause damage to your sleep set. If you want to do the installation of your new mattress, ask the store personnel or customer service to give some information and tips to avoid problems. In that time, you will understand how those tips are helpful for a good mattress to sleep.
Use a protective pad. A good quality, washable mattress pad should keep your mattress fresh and free from stains.
Give it good support. Be sure to use a study, high-quality bed frame. If it’s a twin, queen or king size bed and base, make sure your frame has the strong center support that will prevent the mattress from breakage.
Don’t dry clean. The chemicals in dry cleaning spot removers may be harmful to the fabric or material of mattresses. Vacuuming is the only recommended cleaning option. But if you are determined to remove a spot or stain, use a mild soap with cold water. Do not soak a mattress or foundation.
Don’t remove the tag. It’s not illegal to remove the law tag, but the information on the tag will give you the identification which means you can have a warranty claim.
It’s not a trampoline. Don’t let the kids jump on your mattress or sleep set. This can cause damage to the interior construction of your bed, as well as to mattress and foundation.
No boards, please. Never put a board between mattress and foundation. It may enhance the sense of support for a while, but it will make the problem worse over time.
Follow manufacturer’s instructions. Be sure to follow any specific guidelines from your manufacturer for the best mattress care methods.
Out with the old. Now that you’ve treated yourself to a new sleep set, arrange to have your old bed removed. Don’t give it to the kids, guests or neighbors. If it wasn’t good enough for you, it isn’t good enough for anyone else. Get rid of it!
